Garzweiler II ligt ten westen van de A44. Garzweiler II is 48 km² groot en bevat 1,3 miljard ton bruinkool. De exploitatie is gestart in 2006 en zal naar verwachting tot 2045 duren. Hiervoor zullen twaalf dorpen (met 7600 inwoners) verdwijnen.

Garzweiler II is located west of the A44. Garzweiler II is 48 km² in size and contains 1.3 billion tonnes of brown coal. The operation started in 2006 and is expected to last until 2045. For this, twelve villages (with 7600 inhabitants) will disappear.
